Lisa Y.S. West
The West Firm, P.C. was founded on January 1, 2006, by Lisa Y.S. West. Lisa West is a former judge of both the City Court of Atlanta and the Municipal Court of Atlanta, where she presided over cases involving traffic (including DUI and suspended licenses), special misdemeanors, housing code violations, zoning code violations, erosion code violations, solicitation (prostitution), and other issues.
Prior to becoming a judge, Lisa became licensed to practice law in both Texas and Georgia and was a litigation attorney with prestigious law firms in both Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. She also was a staff attorney to the highest state and federal courts in Georgia - - the Supreme Court of Georgia and the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Lisa has also served as an adjunct professor at an Atlanta area law school and an Atlanta area paralegal training facility. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Law with honors after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Corrections from Mississippi State University and after performing graduate studies in criminology at the University of Florida. Lisa has published both legal and non-legal articles and has spoken to various groups on numerous issues of interest. She has also founded The Jade Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting African-American and Hispanic women who are unwittingly or at risk of being infected with HIV/AIDS by their secretly gay husbands, boyfriends or significant others.
